| PROJECT OBJECTIVES | As certified by the Development Support Agency of Gujarat, the tribal fishermen of the tribal areas of the state have been fishing for their livelihood from natural water bodies for years. But natural fish production has a limit. "Fish Farming and Case Culture Yojana" has been implemented to increase the income of these tribal fishermen by raising fish using scientific methods and to improve their living standards and to double their income. |
| ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA | The scheme will benefit tribal beneficiaries in freshwater fisheries sector of tribal areas.
FRA, tribal women, and dam affected beneficiaries shall be given priority in the scheme. |
| ASSISATANCE UNDER THE SCHEME | 60% of cost of fish cage culture size 6m x 4m x 4m, Rs.1.80 lakh or 60% of actual cost per beneficiary subject to unit cost limit of Rs.3.00 lakh per beneficiary whichever is less. The lesser of the two will be available as assistance. |
